Show some love to Karaneko

Developer Karabiner Games has announced that Karaneko has reached a major milestone on Kickstarter. Within just 24 hours of launch, the project secured 80% of its funding goal, raising over $20,000. This marks a strong start for the team and its growing fan base. Inspired by beloved games like Undertale and Deltarune, Karaneko combines heartfelt storytelling with an inventive Bullet Hell combat system. It promises to create a narrative centered on family, choice and discovery.

The game tells the story of Karam, the young protagonist. He wakes up in a mysterious new world and goes in search of his missing brother. The journey follows interconnected maps filled with secrets to uncover and characters whose fates intertwine with his own. Every decision made in conversations or battles has significant consequences. This also affects both the relationships that are established and the direction of the story. As Karam dives deeper into this world, players gradually uncover the truth behind its secrets through moments of connection, conflict, and reflection.

Combat in Karaneko takes a fast-paced twist on traditional turn-based systems, combining strategy with reflex-based challenges. Players can adjust the intensity and difficulty of encounters, allowing for a customized experience that rewards both careful planning and quick reactions.

A free demo is available on Steam, offering an early look at the game's world and mechanics. To celebrate the launch of the campaign, the team also announced a community giveaway with the grand prize being a Mario Kart bundle for Nintendo Switch 2, as well as Steam gift cards for ten additional winners. The event, organized in collaboration with the Deltarune x Karaneko Discord, has already generated fan art, theoretical discussions and excitement for the future project.
