It's hard to believe Planet Zoo – still the best modern management simulator from developer Frontier – is six years old. But it's already six, and today's birthday celebrations brought big news confirming that a sequel is on the way.
Planet Zoo launched back in November 2019 and brought a vibrant presentation and rich customization to its sister game. Planet Coasterinto the world of zoo management. It was a brilliant thing; magnificent (just look at those animals!), but with a solid management core. In the six years since then, Planet Zoo has received 20 expansion packs, adding new animals, new campaign scenarios and new themed settings, and it's even made its way to consoles.
But there's more to Planet Zoo, as the recently released game hints at. sixth anniversary trailer. It ends with a ticker count of years from 2019 to 2026, after which all numbers disappear except one – number two. And if the meaning wasn't obvious enough, Frontier made a more explicit statement on your website.

It's not entirely clear whether there will be a Planet Zoo 2 launch next year, or not until Frontier starts talking about it, but it will definitely be interesting to see how the studio plans to meaningfully develop the already fairly definitive first game, especially once it's released. disappointing sequel to Planet Coaster.
