Journée de traitements pour Suzuki: rare absence pour l’homme de fer du CH

In a rare occurrence, Nick Suzuki was not on the ice with his teammates during the Canadian's practice on Wednesday. The captain retired to undergo treatment.

Even if we don't know the reason for his visit to the team's therapists, it wouldn't be surprising if it had something to do with Travis Konecny's shot that he blocked late in overtime to keep the score at 4-4.

Suzuki looked embarrassed as he returned to the bench, but the pain did not stop him from starting the penalty shootout.

However, after practice, Martin St. Louis confirmed that Suzuki will be in his position for Thursday night's game against the New Jersey Devils.

Thus, his status as CH's Iron Man is not in danger. He currently has the second-longest streak among active players in the National Hockey League (NHL) with 468 consecutive games, well behind Brent Burns' 939 games.

The Canadian also announced the recall of defender Marc Del Gaiso from the Laval Rocket ahead of Thursday night's match in New Jersey. The 26-year-old defender will be insurance during this short trip abroad.

He also participated in a trip to the West in October but saw no action.

Since the start of the campaign, Del Gaiso has recorded an assist in six games for the Rocket.
