Pluto Has Released a Free Demo on Steam Today

A darkly humorous journey awaits on Pluto

Independent studio Siege Wizard Interactive has released a demo of Pluto, a roguelike that turns spellcasting into a tactile, finger-controlled experience. The game invites players into a world of cursed ruins and haunted crypts, where danger lurks at every turn, but the main character's main concern is to be on time for his niece's birthday.

Pluto combines the strategy of modern deck builders with the creative unpredictability of games like Balatro And Inscription. Instead of drawing and playing cards, players weave gestures into rudimentary patterns, layering movements to create spontaneous and often chaotic spell combinations. Each encounter is a test of quick thinking, timing and imagination, offering a system that is as unpredictable as it is rewarding.

The demo is a 40-minute vertical slice of the entire gameplay, showcasing the game's core loop: spell-casting mechanics, item interactions, and complex enemy designs. Players can explore the early stages, which make up about forty percent of the finished game's content, and experiment with their first playable character. While the full version will feature multiple wizards, expanded world-building, and longer, repeatable playthroughs, the demo captures the essence of Pluto's personality, with tactical combat laced with sardonic humor.

Visually, Pluto balances darkness and absurdity. The hand-drawn creatures and dark dungeons evoke menace, but the story remains charmingly mundane. The wizard's task is not to save humanity, but simply to keep a family promise. This is a world where a lightning-charged ice cube can decapitate an enemy, and a hero's greatest regret is forgetting a gift.

Featuring eight playable characters, multiple levels of ascension, and lore woven into items and environments, Pluto promises a spellcasting adventure that's both challenging and irreverent.
