Save humanity in Drownlight
Critically and independent studio Fathomlight have unveiled Drownlight, a city-building survival game set in a world swallowed by the sea. After a catastrophic chain of explosions that caused huge tsunamis, the continents of the planet disappeared under the waves, leaving behind an almost empty ocean and fragments of human hopes.
Among the vast expanse of water, a handful of survivors stumble upon a lonely lighthouse towering over the abyss. No one knows how many are still alive, but this lighthouse becomes their refuge and the basis for a new beginning. Around this single light they seek to build a city that could become the last refuge of humanity.
In Drownlight, players take on the role of a leader guiding this fragile community. A lighthouse is not only a symbol of hope, but also a lifeline that should never go out. Keeping it alive requires constant attention, gathering fuel, energy and materials to keep it glowing. As the light weakens, survivors begin to disappear and the fate of the city hangs in the balance.
As the settlement grows across the turbulent ocean, players must manage resources, secure food and water, and ensure energy flows to sustain life. Each choice shapes the future of the colony, testing the fine line between survival and compassion. With the world reduced to endless water and a single beacon of light, Drownlight challenges players to protect both their people and their humanity in a place where hope is as fragile as the flame that guides them.
