Jonathan Bailey was named The sexiest man in the world To People magazine for 2025.
The choice of magazine was announced Monday evening on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Bailey takes the robe from Office And Jack Ryan star John Krasinski, who was 2024 choice.

Bailey said he first heard about the name in early 2025 while appearing in a Shakespeare production. Richard II.
“The only thing crazier than doing Richard II should have been invited to this,” he said. “And back in 2025, I'm kind of thrilled that People magazine has invited somebody, given this honor to someone who can really appreciate the value of a sexy man.”
When asked if he thought people would treat him differently after being named Sexiest Man Alive, Bailey laughed and replied, “I hope so.”
Bailey, the subject of Friday's People's magazine cover, had to remain silent about the news. But he admitted to the magazine that he couldn't keep it a complete secret – he shared the news with his dog Benson, who will also be featured in the magazine.
When asked who would be most upset about his new title, Bailey said it would be a lot of his friends.
“They'll be furious that I didn't tell them, and then they'll just squeal with delight. And they've seen me grow up, you know, the magic behind the mask of being identified as a sexy man is that there are other truths that they know and have witnessed,” Bailey told People.
Baileys Wicked co-stars, including Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo And Jeff Goldblumeveryone took to Instagram to celebrate his new title in a video.
“Congratulations to our boy Jonathan Bailey,” said director Jon M. Chu.
“He's the sexiest man alive, not just on this planet, but in the solar system, in the universe, in any multiverse,” Goldblum said, showing off his T-shirt with a photo of Bailey on it.
“You are the kindest, smartest and most beautiful on the inside,” Grande said.
The first Sexiest Man Alive was Mel Gibson in 1985. Other past honorees include Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John F. Kennedy Jr., David Beckham, Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Rudd, Pierce Brosnan and Patrick Dempsey.
