Montezuma's Revenge – 40th Anniversary Edition will be released on December 10th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and Microsoft Store for Windows. Developer Robert Jaeger is finally bringing back his 1984 classic with a new look and expanded content, giving players 100 rooms of platform challenges in HD widescreen with new 2.5D graphics.
This anniversary edition expands the game to 100 rooms and features stunning widescreen HD visuals with 2.5D visuals. In addition to the modern remake, Jaeger also revisited the original pixelated version to create a fully realized director's cut. It is available as part of the Deluxe Edition on Steam. The Nintendo Switch Limited Edition will include a specially branded USB drive containing a PC version of the retro original for collectors.
Digital console editions of Montezuma's Revenge – The 40th Anniversary Edition will retail for $14.99/€14.99 with a 10% discount available for a short period after launch. Physical editions for Nintendo Switch can be pre-ordered from Playasia, with shipments to coincide with the digital release.
The game retains the signature multi-room platforming design, but improves the vibrant 3D graphics. Players can choose between the original hero Pedro and his sister Rosita.
