Enter the Rift in Primal Fray
Individual developer Timotheusz Pietruszka has announced that his turn-based strategy roguelike Primal Fray will release on November 24th for PC and all major consoles, including Steam, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo.
Set on procedurally generated hexagon-shaped floating islands, Primal Fray challenges players to assemble a team of powerful Primals and battle through the Rift against tactical enemies and dangerous bosses. Each encounter requires smart positioning and creative use of units' unique abilities to pull off devastating combos and survive the journey ahead.
One of the standout features of the game is the local hotseat PvP mode, offering players the opportunity to take on any team they can imagine on custom maps. Designed to ensure fair competition, this mode features mirrored maps, a balanced lineup, and a chess timer to keep the tension high. Players can even create and share their own maps, turning each duel into a unique strategy experience.
“The core game is mostly about dealing with randomness and making the best decisions out of the bad ones you can make. Here you can assemble any team you want. I think I'm pretty good at the game, but playing PVP makes even my brain melt.” says Timoteusz Parsley
Pietruszka, who also teaches at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, developed Primal Fray entirely on his own, creating everything from the graphics and code to the story and game mechanics. The result is a unique blend of classic tactical design and modern roguelike elements that promises to challenge players' strategic instincts when it releases later this month.
