The new way to find Apple apps online is through a website similar to the Mac App Store.
Previously, you had to either search for apps on Apple's website or share a link to the app from your Apple device in your browser. There was no viewing experience, but now there is one.
The new app store is available online at Apps.apple.com URL and, in my brief tests, works correctly in both Safari and Chrome. However, unlike Google's online app store, there is no way to remotely install apps on your devices. The current form only allows you to copy a link, which you can then send to your iPhone or Mac.
Canadians should also be aware that this is the US version of the App Store, so prices may look a little cheaper than we're used to. It appears that only app stores for Mexico, France, Brazil, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, China, Russia and Arab countries are available for now.
While watching, I also felt like there were some Mac games missing. For example, I couldn't find ads for Cyberpunk 2077 or Assassin's Creed Shadows. Nevertheless, Assassin's Creed Mirage was specified for iPhone.
Overall, it's a nice quality of life improvement for finding apps on the go, but I wonder why Apple decided to create an online version of its App Store. Does this mean the store will be less restrictive and will be able to compete with third party EU stores? There is also the simple fact that Apple has had no competition in its App Store in the past, so perhaps the launch of EU stores has encouraged the company to release more updates.
