Although 4x is not a genre that can be explicitly associated with mobile devices, it is still quite popular on our favorite platform. This definitely applies to today's topic, “The Battle of Polytopia.” Seeing you try to conquer Polytopia, I realize that one of its main factions has just undergone a major overhaul!
Longtime players will already be familiar with the insect-themed Cymanti. But they're getting a whole new overhaul that includes major changes to how they play. First, their core “Algae” aspect has been completely changed from enhancing the tile to the tile itself.
This means that you can now not only build additional upgrades on top of the algae, but also get some Athea Nectar for free (at the cost of losing popularity). Algae will also no longer slow down naval units, but will still slow down your land units. Speaking of units, further changes are taking place!
Unity)
For starters, the Raichi were split into a traditional naval unit, still called the same thing, and the aptly named Boomchi, which, well, explodes. They are joined by the Living Island, a huge creature that spreads algae and can be used to transport land units across water.
As for the land part, there have been major changes and changes (you can check them out in official blog). But one of the biggest changes is replacing Swordsman with Mantis, replacing Cloaks with Moths, and changing transformation units to mean they don't regain their health when transformed!
All this significantly changes the strategic aspect of the Battle for Polytopia. But for many of you this is unlikely to be a stumbling block.
