Cyberpunk Creator To Keanu Reeves: “Contact Me”

Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith has discussed the possibility of Johnny Silverhand actor Keanu Reeves returning to the character, asking The Matrix star to pick up the phone and give him a call.

Appearing in REDstreams broadcast, as reported by IGNPondsmith said that he saw the headlines where Reeves himself said that he would like to return to play Silverhand again in a future Cyberpunk project, be it Cyberpunk 2 or something else.

“I could see that Keanu would love to find a way to come back from the dead and play Johnny again. I have ways to do this, Keanu. Contact me,” Pondsmith said.

Silverhand is a former rock star who appears in the game as a digital engram long after the death of his physical body. The character's fate at the end of Cyberpunk 2077 may depend on the ending players receive. With that in mind, it seems possible that he could return in Cyberpunk 2, but it's far from a guarantee that it will happen, as it will depend on a countless combination of factors.

Pondsmith also discussed whether another celebrity might be featured in the cyberpunk project, following Reeves and Idris Elba, who played Solomon Reed in the popular Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty.

“What's next? Scarlett Johansson? – said Pondsmith. “Scarlett, you know I have roles for you. You can do anything.”

The release date for Cyberpunk 2 has not yet been set, but don't expect it anytime soon. As for CD Projekt's other upcoming games, the company is making The Witcher 4 and is co-producing remake of the original Witcher game with developer Fool's Theory.
