Capcom H1 2025 sales and profits up YoY thanks to Monster Hunter Wilds and “anticipation” for Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom released its financial results for the six months ended September 30, 2025, reporting another record period with net sales, operating income and net income up 53.7%, 90.8% and 72.8%, respectively.

The Japanese megacorporation attributes its success to increased sales of serialized game catalogs such as Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4, supported by “increased anticipation for the latest game in the same series following its announcement,” Resident Evil Requiem, which is slated for release in February 2026.

Street Fighter 6 also continued to be profitable, thanks to the release of a version for Nintendo Switch 2 in June and “active participation in esports initiatives.”

Numbers

For the six months ended September 30, 2025:

  • Net sales: 81.2 billion yen (531.4 million US dollars), up 43.9% year-on-year.
  • Operating profit: 81.1 billion yen (530.7 million US dollars), up 89.8% year-on-year.
  • Regular profit: ¥36.5 billion ($238.9 million), up 76.5% year-on-year.
  • Net profit: 27.5 billion yen ($179.9 million), up 80.1% year-on-year.

Highlights

In its digital content business, which covers games, Capcom released Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Onimusha 2, Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, “renewing support for fans of the series.” This will bring cumulative global sales of Street Fighter 6 to over five million units.

The buzz surrounding Resident Evil Requiem has had an impact on other Resident Evil games, with sales of Devil May Cry 5 also “strong” due to “implementing a pricing strategy in line with the release of the TV adaptation.” […] increasing awareness of the company's intellectual property.”

As for Monster Hunter, sales of Monster Hunter Rise continue to grow alongside Monster Hunter Wilds, bringing “catalog sales to 22.85 million units, exceeding the reported 18.95 million units” during last year's sales period.

Overall, Capcom's gaming segment net sales increased 25.3% year over year, while operating income rose 52%.

Capcom has also “leveraged” its popular game Street Fighter 6 into esports events, including the Capcom Pro Tour 2025.

The company said its guidance for the current fiscal year ending March 31, 2026 remains unchanged.
