LANDOVER, MD — Commanders defender Jayden Daniels suffered a serious injury to his left elbow with less than 8 minutes left in Week 9 of Sunday Night Football in Washington at home against Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks led 38–1 at that point and ultimately won 38–14, dominating from the start of the game.
Daniels was making his way to the right sideline as Seahawks linebacker Drake Thomas grabbed him. As Daniels rolled over, he tried to use his non-throwing arm to stay on his feet; however, after landing on the grass, his left elbow seemed to bend inward at an unnatural angle.
Commander medical personnel rushed onto the field, propping up Daniels' left elbow and arm before the franchise's star signee walked off the field, balanced as he entered the tunnel.
It was a tough sophomore season for Daniels, who missed two games with an ankle injury suffered in Week 2 against the team. Packers and missed Washington's Week 8 game with a hamstring injury suffered against Washington. Cowboys in his previous game.
