Quick question: Does Fruit of the Loom have a cornucopia in its logo?
Many of us have been wearing the company's T-shirts for decades, yet whether or not the logo features a braided brown cornucopia is a surprisingly contentious issue.
According to a 2022 poll, 55% of Americans believe that the logo actually has a cornucopia, 25% are unsure, and only 21% are sure it does not, although this last group is correct.
There's a name for what's going on here: the Mandela Effect, or collective false memory, so called because many people incorrectly remember that Nelson Mandela died in prison. However, while it is easy for many to give up their unsupported beliefs, some spend years searching for answers and justifications. Read the full story.
