Miles Teller pulled double duty (of sorts) by portraying twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott in the pre-taped film. Saturday Night Live sketch parodying Canadian reality television Property Brothers. This time, two developers are setting themselves their “biggest challenge” – the gigantic task of getting the president Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) as a client and is tasked with building the White House Ballroom.
But as the siblings try to make sense of Trump's increasingly complex and outlandish demands, they also have to deal with the growing tension and resentment they feel toward each other.
They begin by touring the space, wryly noting that Trump has a “good eye for interior design,” which the GOP leader attributes to his love of the casual gold urns, which he places “everywhere, a hundred in every room.”
Praising Melania Trump's (Chloe Fineman) Halloween decorations of dead trees, skeletons and other creepy contraptions, the first lady sardonically replies, “It's for Christmas.”
Other changes include Trump replacing a portrait of former President Roosevelt with a painting of him as a soldier from Halo. Meanwhile, upcoming renovation requests include turning the Rose Garden area into something like “outdoor seating for an olive garden,” complete with a budget of “$350 million to infinity.”
As both brothers recall with unsettling laughter, when he asked Trump if he needed permission, he apparently laughed and told them, “I could build this ballroom out of the bones of my enemies and no one could stop me.”
For inspiration, Trump points to a mood board that includes, among other things, photographs of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Star wars'powerful gangster Jabba the Hutt.
Rhino's other plans include setting up an MMA ring for “two mentally ill guys just crying at each other…we love no-ass fighting,” Trump says.
Once Trump responds to a message with a GIF of the White House exploding, the brothers can begin demolishing the East Wing. However, due to the government shutdown, the duo had to “force park rangers and astronauts” to carry out the operation. After Johnson's Trump faced the challenge of deporting all the construction workers, he muses, “I pulled into the Home Depot parking lot and yelled, 'Just give me the white one!' I need day laborers from Norway and Sweden, but apparently there are none.”
“We want this to be our permanent home,” Melania says after Trump announced he was preparing for a third term. He then adds, “Yeah, because we're not leaving. We're going to do something called a coup!”
At the end of the sketch, the brothers ask for payment, at which point Trump responds by calling them to ICE, given that the sibling duo are originally from Canada.
Watch it above.
