Vanguard Enterprises LLC, doing business as Bedrock MFG in Boise, Idaho, is recalling Monarch Premium Kratom Bali Gold, Red Bali, Green Maeng Da brands and White Elephant powder because the products may be contaminated with salmonella.
This recall is the result of a retail sample collected and analyzed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services that found the finished product contained Salmonella.
The affected Monarch Premium Kratom Bali Gold, Red Bali, Green Maeng Da and White Elephant brand powders were distributed nationwide through retail stores and through mail order through the company's website https://bedrockbotanicals.com between April 2023 and September 2023.
These kratom powder products are not sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Rhode Island, or Wisconsin.
The affected products from Monarch Premium Kratom Bali Gold, Red Bali, Green Maeng Da and White Elephant brands are packaged in Mylar bags of different sizes (14 grams, 56 grams, 112 grams, 224 grams). Each package is marked with one of the following lot and UPC numbers:

About salmonella infection
Food contaminated with salmonella bacteria usually does not look spoiled, does not smell or taste. Anyone can get salmonellosis. Symptoms of Salmonella infection can mimic other diseases, often leading to misdiagnosis.
Symptoms of a salmonella infection may include diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever for 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. Otherwise healthy adults usually get sick for four to seven days. However, in some cases, diarrhea can be so severe that patients require hospitalization.
Older adults, children, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems, such as cancer patients, are more likely to develop severe illness and serious, sometimes life-threatening conditions.
Some people become infected without getting sick or showing any symptoms. However, they can still transmit the infection to other people.
