An 18-year-old man is facing attempted murder and a number of other charges after what police say was a “targeted” shooting in Mississauga in early September.

Peel Regional Police say two more suspects have been charged following an investigation that lasted nearly two months.

Police say the driver of a white Ford Explorer was pursuing a white Ford Bronco Sport with two people inside on Sept. 3 at approximately 4 a.m.

According to police, the incident occurred on Southdown Road, north of Lakeshore Road. W., where the suspect fired nine shots from a firearm into the victim's vehicle. One victim suffered serious injuries, but the other was not injured, police said.

After an extensive investigation, an arrest was made on October 7, police said.

Daniel Emmanuel was charged with attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, intentionally discharging a firearm, negligent use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, being in a motor vehicle while knowing the unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowing the unauthorized possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, possession of property obtained by crime, and sale or possession of counterfeit signs.

Emmanuel was being held in custody pending a bail hearing and appeared in Brampton court, police said.

Investigators executed a search warrant Wednesday and two more people were arrested, police said.

Loreto Perruzza, 55, of Mississauga, was charged with obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact to an indictable offence.

Leone Francesco, 34, of Oakville, was charged with obstructing a peace officer, public nuisance – making false statements and accessory after the fact to an indictable offense.

Police said both Perruzza and Francesco were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
