PREVIEW: Breeders Cup Junior 1m 110yds Dirt
Just six runners on the junior team after a couple of scratches and a very warm favorite in Todd Pletcher. Ted Noffey a handsome gray colt who turned heads every time he passed by on his morning exercise during the week. He arrived undefeated in three starts, including two Grade Is, the Safe Stakes at Saratoga and the Breeders' Future at Keeneland. He won the Hope by eight and a half lengths and then the Keeneland by nearly three lengths, with litmus test again in third place. Second favorite Goose won the Grade One Del Mar Futurity by a wide margin, with litmus test fourth. Ted Noffey and Brant capture most of the market, but Fearless, whose jockey, Hector Berrios, is already on the scoresheet, has some complaints about his winning form in the American Pharoah at Santa Anita.
KEY FORM:
G1 Encouraging bets, Saratoga, 7th Fl., 9/1/25 (Ted Noffey)
The future of G1 breeders, Keeneland, 8.5f, 10/4/25 (Ted Noffey, litmus test)
G1 Del Mar Future, Del Mar, 7f, 7 September 25 (Brant, litmus test)

Ahead of the Breeders' Cup Young Fillies!

PREVIEW: Young Mare Turf, 8ft, Turf
All betting changes for this race after Accurate was ruled out due to infection earlier today, and Frankie Dettori's pet Imaginationlady is now one of the market leaders. In October, she won the Grade 2 Jessamine Stakes at Keeneland by coming from midfield and making a perfectly timed run. Time to dream was just over third behind her, and also has obvious prospects now that Precision is at zero, while Queen of Hawaii is also an excellent runner out of Joseph O'Brien's second ground. She has only won at Group 3 level so far but has improved with each race and was clearly targeted from the start by her trainer with an excellent result in the Breeders Cup. Brave Deb, Meanwhile, it's worth considering that she last won the Surfer Girl Stakes at Santa Anita.
KEY FORM:
G2 Jessamine stakes, Keeneland, 8.5f, 3 October 25 (Imaginationthelady, Infinite Sky, Time To Dream)
P.G. Johnson, Saratoga, 8.5f, 27 August 25 (Time to Dream)
G3 Surfer Girl betting, Santa Anita, 8th floor, 10/5/25 (Brave Deb)
CHOICE: QUEEN OF HAWAII
I have already mentioned my choice for Young fillies? It's not like what I did, I'm going with Bar Percy set a record immediately after being demoted from first place in Spinaway.
Brussels finished best in this race and appears to have lost more positions than he was beaten by a very poor start, reminiscent of the days of yore when Aidan O'Brien's Breeders' Cup runners regularly dropped out of the ground and gave the field the lead. True love who never thought about it, also walked slowly.
Without taking anything away from Cy Fair, Although. Irad Ortiz Jr. had a perfect race, shooting 5-1 in a questionable 10-out draw.
RESULT OF THE BREEDERS' CUP JUVENILE PEAT SPRINT:
1. CY FAIR, 2. Brussels, 3. Aspect Island.
Cy Fair ends up with a wet sail, as does Aspect Island, but it will Cy Fair day he beats Brussels and Aspect Island
Brussels missed… Schwarzenegger soon leads with 11 points and increases it, Frankie confidently holds on in the middle division…
In the breakaway, Schwarzenegger is still in the lead, but Cy Fair is falling back, while Brussels is holding on very well despite being off the pace…
We are coming in steadily… Brussels he’s still small and needs a little help, but he’s already home…. Aspect Island and Frankie are in… and…
They are running in Breeders Cup, juvenile turf sprint!
They begin to gallop towards the counters ahead Youth sprint on the lawn. True love still tops the bets here, while Cy Fair remains popular among local players. Winner Algonquin Stakes Woodbine is 4-1 on the road here last time, but with the oddsmakers at home, it's a few points up.
Ten minutes to time a youth turf sprint and little will change in the betting. True love still a 5-2 favorite. First of Frankie Dettori five Breeders' Cup mounts, Aspect Island, currently paying 40-1 per car.
PREVIEW: Young fillies, 1m 110yds, dirt
Bob Baffert has a strong hand here. Research And Bottle of Blush, the first two fillies are currently in the betting and there is a straight line of form to ponder as Bottle of Blush was a one-round winner in the Grade One Del Mar Debutante Stakes over 7 feet in September, with Explora finishing second. Explora ran and Bottle Of Rouge worked her way into the lead inside the final furlong, but Explora subsequently improved to beat the highly impressive winner Oak Leaf at Santa Anita and is today favorite to reverse her earlier form with Bottle Of Rouge. La WallyMeanwhile, he was third in the Debutante and held well at the death, so the extra distance should suit him here. Tommy Joe arrives with two Grade I victories, Spinaway at Saratoga over seven furlongs and then Alcibiades. for over a mile in Keeneland. She was very impressive at Spinaway, finishing a couple lengths behind on a strong page (22.22 seconds in the quarter mile, then 44.54 seconds in the half), came into the turn and pulled away from the distance. However, Alcibiades was closer, since Bar Percy set a decent pace, went wide of the post initially, but was then demoted, giving Tommy Joe a shot halfway through. The other big test for this is the Frizette Stakes at Aqueduct in New York, which was won by a very small margin this year. Iron Garden, and the third house is four lengths further back.
KEY FORM:
G1 debutant bets, Del March, 7f, 6 September 25 (Bottle Of Rouge, Explora, La Wally)
G1 Spinaway bets, Saratoga 7f 30 Aug 25 (Tommy Joe, Percy's Bar)
G1 Alcibiades Stakes, Keeneland, 8.5f, 10/3/25 (Tommy Joe, Percy's Bar)
G1 Frizette bets, Aqueduct, 8f, October 4, 25 (Iron Garden)
G2 Oak leaf stakes, Santa Anita, 8.5f, 5 Oct. 25 (Explore)
The last of five warm-up events before the Breeders Cup gets underway in earnest has just taken place here in Del Mar, and the market is starting to take shape for Young sprint on the lawn a little less than half an hour.
As expected, True love is at the top of the list with a 5-2 record behind George Weaver. Cy Fair with the score 4-1 and Schwarzenegger with the score 5-1. Brussels, Christophe Soumillon's score from the first bullpen is 11-1, although this is a PMU betting system and the pool will be fairly modest at this time.
Preview: Youth Turf Sprint
Aidan O'Brien True love winner of the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes, was the early favorite for this race and still leads the market despite a decidedly suboptimal draw in the ninth ground. She won Havana Anna, trained by O'Brien's youngest son, Donnachie, by three quarters of a length, and this looks to be the strongest form on offer, although O'Brien also exhibits Brussels, second in the Middle Park Stakes and then at Cornwallis, as a useful understudy. Brussels is also a decent draw at one, although it has already run six races this season, including four since August 8th. Other interesting runners include racehorse Frankie Dettori, Aspect Island, from James Owen's growing dual-purpose stable, which was just outside Brussels at Cornwallis, while the front line Schwarzenegger is the cheapest runner training in the US. The Wesley Ward colt performed very well at Keeneland last time out and represents an interesting chance for both sides, even after a difficult draw in Stall 11.
KEY FORM:
G1 Chiveley Park Stakes, Newmarket, 27-25 September (True Love, Havana Anna).
G3 Cornwallis Stakes, Newmarket, 10 October 25 (Brussels, Aspect Island)
Indian summer rates Keeneland, 5 October 25 (Schwarzenegger, “Annihilation”)
CHOICE: SCHWARZENEGGER (e/b)

Precision's absence is a blow to the meeting, but it leaves trained specialists in place. Imaginationlady, it was ridden by a soon-to-be-retired jockey named Frankie Dettorias one of the favorites for the first class event at 23.45 GMT.
However, even after leaving the Military Code, the European challenge for Young sprint on the lawn remains strong, with runners trained by various members of the O'Brien family occupying four of the top five stakes placings.
