In a recent episode with Joe Rogan, Elon Musk returned to try to sell the host on the Cybertruck. Rogan didn't bite, but he asked Musk about the Tesla Roadster, and the CEO said they were going to show off a flying version soon.
Currently, the Roadster in its current form was announced in 2017 and has been delayed every year since.
Musk, ever the showman, when asked if the car could actually fly, told Rogan: “Look, I think this has a chance to be the most memorable product introduced ever. It's some crazy, crazy technology that we put into this car. Crazy technology. Crazy crazy.”

In July, Musk hinted that the epic demo would be released by the end of the year, so it's likely that the two things are connected. However, we have little time for him to meet this deadline.
So far, I don't see any Polymarket chances of a flying Tesla by the end of the year, but when they rise, I'll definitely bet against it.
Musk also added, “Is this even a car? It looks like a car. Let's put it this way. It's crazier than anything James Bond has to offer. If you took all the James Bond cars and combined them, it would be even crazier.”
This makes it a little unclear whether he's ever seen a James Bond movie or whether the next Tesla will have mini-guns, ejection seats, and a submarine.
