This is a growing pet peeve of mine.
Every time I turn around, a non-Christian is trying to teach Christians how to be good Christians, and always by misquoting or miscontextualizing the Bible. The goal is always to mislead, trying to make Christians feel guilty so that they will either shut them up or do what a particular group – usually the Democratic Party – wants them to do.
The latest offender is Rachel Accurso, better known in baby homes around the world as Miss Rachel, a YouTube sensation who has become the new standard in entertainment for young children.
Accurso's biggest problem is that she is politically inclined from time to time, and although she tries to wear a child-friendly mask, her unwavering commitment to left-wing views shines through the veil.

Recently, Ms. Rachel decided to appeal to Christians to speak out against Trump during the government shutdown, pointing out that children would not be fed because SNAP benefits would not be available.
“For people who say they are Christians and want to cut SNAP benefits, Jesus told them to feed the hungry,” Accuro wrote on Instagram.

It doesn't matter what SNAP benefits have massive fraud problem this needs to be sorted out. A whopping 42 million people, some of whom are illegal aliens, receive SNAP benefits, creating dependence on the government and overshadowing personal responsibility. Moreover, much of what SNAP benefits pay for is extremely unhealthy and should not be paid for by taxpayers.

In fact, we hear many people claim that if they don't get SNAP benefits, they will just go rob grocery stores and steal food. To them I give a little rebuttal to this gentleman.
“It's funny how people talk about robbing grocery stores because they don't get SNAP benefits… But if you're physically able to ROBB A STORE, that means you're physically able to go FIND A JOB!” 🔥🔥pic.twitter.com/DXhhXh2EL8

But let’s get to Accurso and her: “If you’re a good Christian, you’ll do the X-post.
Yes, Christ commanded us to be merciful; however, Scripture is also quite adamant that those who can work must work, or they will not eat.
“If anyone does not want to work, let him not eat,” Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, which said people should “work quietly and earn their living.”
Ephesians 4:28 says, “Let a thief not steal, but rather work… so that he may have something to share.”
Yes, we Christians are more than happy to feed the poor and needy. What we can't do is allow thieves to take things that don't belong to them, and people who abuse SNAP are, after all, thieves. They don't work. They don't make money. They are parasites.
Does participating in SNAP mean poor children won't have food? No. Churches and community partnerships, civic organizations, school nutrition programs and more provide food to children who don't have it. No child in America should go hungry because SNAP benefits didn't arrive. Charities are not hard to find, and did you know that many of them are based on Christian organizations.
Accurso, who says she's all about caring for the kids, probably knows about all of this, considering how she cares about the kids so much… right?
Right?
It's not Accurso's concern for children; it's her politics that cuts through the smiling, baby-voiced persona she portrays on YouTube for kids and parents. It's that she's using children as leverage for her political beliefs, which in itself is rude.
If she hopes that Christians will simply be stymied by constant guilt, she is barking up the wrong tree. As much as I sympathize with the truly poor and needy, I am no fool. Like most Christians. We know the difference between the commandment of our Lord and Savior and the guilt of an online personality whose stage has become a little bigger than it probably should be at this point.
If you're going to attack Christians with sophistry, you better know the Bible better than they do.
