A bar in Iqaluit, Nunavut that was featured on the Major League Baseball (MLB) website says it has “cancelled” Halloween and is going “all in” on the Toronto Blue Jays as they seek their first World Series title since 1992.
According to general manager Valerie Hill, the Storehouse Bar and Grill was nearly filled to capacity on game night as the Jays inched closer and closer to a final victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
That victory could come on Halloween night, and Hill says the energy is “through the roof.”
“We've spruced up the bar. We've added baseball-themed cocktails and new shots to our menu. … We've changed the names of our signature dishes to accommodate the World Series. We had an Italian Grand Slam the other day in honor of Vladdis' first Grand Slam.”
The Jays currently lead the series 3-2 after beating the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.
Game 6 of the World Series is Friday night at 8:00 pm ET.
Greetings from the MLB website, television network
MLB released its report on the bar on Sunday, and Blue Jays color commentator Buck Martinez praised it during Monday's broadcast, mentioning Hill by name even though he mistakenly called the bar “Stonehouse.”
“We forgive him,” Hill said.
“We still love him. Any recognition is amazing to us. … I was trained to be a baseball player, so for me, it's like I'm in the World Series with the Jays on the bench … And I have the clip saved and I'll be listening to it when I'm, you know, 80 years old.”

The Warehouse typically hosts 50 and 100 guests outside of World Series competition, but its capacity is approaching 215 people as the Jays compete for the pennant, she added.
The staff wore Jay's apparel and prizes were given out at the bar.
One Jays fan from Iqaluit who attended the game at the Storehouse said it was fun to be at the bar with a large group of people putting all their worries aside and cheering for the team.
According to Duane Twerdin, emotions changed depending on what was happening on the screen.
At one point, the bar gathered everyone on the dance floor for a group photo.
Asked if he had a message for Nunavummiut ahead of the Jays' Game 6, Twerdin said, “We've got one more win, let's see if we can do it…the stress level is going to be pretty high.”
