Next theatrical anime may not hit the US box office as hard as Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle or Chainsaw Man – Movie: Reze's Arcbut there's still cause for excitement Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution. The upcoming collection will combine the final episodes of the second season and the premiere episodes of the series. Season 3 Selection Game arc — and it may be the only way to see these episodes on an IMAX-sized screen.
GKids announced on Friday that not only Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution it will arrive in the US on December 5th (just a month after its November 7th release in Japan), but will only rule IMAX screens for one day until release. Execution debuts in extra-large format on December 3rd.
As non-manga readers can probably guess from Toho Animation's ability to seamlessly tie together the end of the Shibuya Incident arc and the beginning of the Selection Game arc, the following excerpt JKThe story begins from where it all ended. The “Juling Game” arc is the longest stretch in creator Gege Akutami's series, and based on how faithful the series has been so far, there should be a ton of new characters and actors added in the upcoming season. Major players such as Higuruma, Takaba, Kashimo and Naoya join the series along with the return of Yuta Okkotsu from Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and, well, no spoilers.
Many Jujutsu Kaisen Fans have had issues with the second season's animation style, and some are hoping MAPPA will do the series justice by reanimating episodes from at least one major fight scene. Clearly, if Toho and MAPPA are willing to project the film onto the biggest screens imaginable, they've done something right.
Judge for yourself – the announcement of the IMAX date was accompanied by a brand new trailer.
