What they lack in practicality (few are suitable for wearing on a bus) they make up for in creativity and execution.
Last year, a number of celebrities, including Billie Eilish, Alix Earle and Khloe Kardashian, threw parties for their famous friends, but it remains to be seen whether they will do the same again this year.
However, Heidi Klum's iconic Halloween bash looks set to take place again in New York, while others are watching to see if Jonathan Ross will return to the party circuit as he rides the wave of popularity for his appearance on Celebrity Betrayers.
