If he wins the race, Ciattarelli told Hannity his top priority would be overturning New Jersey's sanctuary policies, keeping local and state officials from cooperating with federal immigration officials.

“Here's the good news,” he continued. “Many things that [current Democratic Gov. Phil] Murphy did this by order of the President. They have not been codified by the legislature, which means I can repeal them on day one.”

“Having sanctuary cities and being a sanctuary state encourages illegal immigration and constrains our local police in certain ways; we don't do that. I'm going to change that on day one,” he said, adding: “If the local police chief and the mayor want to work together to keep our community safe while working with a federal agency, I'm not going to stand in the way.”

Ciattarelli also said he would prioritize eliminating no-cash bail, saying the policy “has created a career criminal who has learned to game the system.”

“Talk to local cops and they'll tell you about this dynamic, known as 'arrest, release, repeat,' it demoralizes cops,” he explained.

Even though Ciattarelli had already run unsuccessfully twice for governor of New Jersey, he told Hannity that early voting results put him in “a really good position to win.”

During the town hall, he also hit out at Cheryl for refusing to release her military records regarding the disciplinary action she suffered for her role in the U.S. Naval Academy cheating scandal. Cheryl maintained that she did not cheat, but was not allowed to hang out with her graduating class due to her refusal to provide information about those who cheated.

“All she has to do is approve the release of her disciplinary records and we will know why she was punished. And if what she says is true, her disciplinary records will confirm it, but she will not release them,” he said, adding: “There is a pattern here.”
