I imagine it would be difficult to assess what the worst reaction of the liberal media to the government shutdown was.
But I have to give credit for how bad this one was from MSNBC Morning Joe host Jonathan Lemire. He also writes for The Atlantic, and it shows. This tweet should encourage you to read one of his Atlantic articles. He said President Donald Trump was “MIA” and was ignoring the government shutdown.

Now let's start with what's interesting here: whose fault is the Schumer shutdown, John?
Oops, I gave it away with that description. It is not Trump or the Republicans who are keeping the government closed, but the Democrats with their votes. Trump cannot get the 60 votes needed to end the quarantine. It's all on the Democrats. The President has no voting rights. But you don't see that in Lemire's tweet. We should just forget about it. As with all things liberal media, Trump is somehow to blame… even if he isn't.
Moreover, Trump is far from the “MIA” as stated in the White House Rapid Response Report. They were brief, calling Lemire a “stupid c***.”

They also noted that Trump has spoken many times about closing businesses. He also met with Democratic leadersAlso.
Here are just a couple of examples, including when Trump called on Democrats to “stop the madness.”

Meanwhile, Democrats vote against reopening the government with a clean continuing resolution. They voted not to pay the military, not to fund SNAP, and not to pay working federal employees. And all because they want to hold the American people hostage to their political agenda.
Others also criticized Lemire for the poor decision.
