- Should I remove Treasure Hunter or not?
- More than 100,000 votes needed
- Voting will continue for 14 days.
Jagex proves how much the studio values community feedback by allowing you to have your say on the MMORPG's microtransactions. Specifically, they've opened up a community vote where you can say yes or no – do you want to remove Treasure Hunter microtransactions from the fantasy adventure entirely?
Ideally, there should be over 100,000 votes for Jagex to remove Treasure Hunter, which also includes over 200 items such as XP Lamps, Mannequins, Protheans, and Handhelds.
It's actually quite a big deal, especially since it's all about monetization, and yet the studio chooses to listen to the community to make sure the RuneScape experience remains enjoyable and sustainable. You can learn more about Jagex's commitment in the video below, but suffice it to say that they seem genuinely interested in making long-term changes that put the community first.
So far, over 77,000 players have voted and are counting the results – the fact that the site has a huge counter also shows transparency on the part of the developers, which is honestly a good first step in keeping things fair.
I also find it interesting that lately a lot of studios have been trying to experiment with different ways to monetize games. Duo Night Abyss the previous gacha system along with the upcoming one Ananta. Are players getting tired of all these RNG mechanics, and studios are trying to see if they can focus more on purely cosmetic items rather than paid goodies that offer stat boosts to paying players? And will it even work? I guess only time will tell.
Anyway, if you want make your voice (or vote) heardThe initiative will be valid for 14 days, so you better go there yourself and take part in the survey.
