«Il faut que je me pince»: Marie-Annick Lépine utilise la toile d’une fan pour souligner l’anniversaire du regretté Karl Tremblay

“I have to pinch myself. I can’t believe it,” rejoices artist Julie Morel in an interview with the publication Magazine.

“I have all the Cowboys Fringants CDs. They've always been a part of my life. The lyrics are themes that speak directly to us as Quebecers. We'll still be talking about it in 20 years because it's so ingrained in us,” she adds.

His surprise day on Tuesday took place in two stages. She first learned that the client who bought her portrait of Carl Tremblay was going to Marie-Annick Lepine to show her the work on the very day that was to be the 49th year.e singer's birthday.

Then, early in the evening, she discovered a post by Marie-Annick Lepine, in which the musician shared a photo of his painting and another caption underneath it:

“The only thing we know is that one day we will all leave, but for now we are alive,” was a phrase often used by Carl Tremblay.

Enthusiasm

“While I was working, I waited until I got home to read the comments. I just couldn't believe it! I was so surprised,” says the 48-year-old artist from Saint-Valer, who also works as a psychiatrist.

It must be said that Julie Morel was afraid of being late with her portrait of Karl Tremblay a few months after the publication of Marie-Annick Lépine asking Quebec artists to send her samples of their works depicting her Karl. All with the aim of creating an exhibition at the Randolph pub in Repentigny.

“I posted a photo of my painting on Facebook when I finished it, just to show it off. I didn't think it would sell so quickly, especially to a friend, Marie-Annick Lepine. He told me he was going to show it to her one day,” she explains.

She says she is touched that her work was presented to her in '49.e birthday of the late singer.

The artist's video, in which she reveals the process of creating her painting, now has more than 10,600 likes and more than 1,000 comments.

“I’m not used to this!” she admits enthusiastically.
