Microsoft’s cloud services firm Azure hit with outage, with Office 365, Minecraft impacted

Microsoft says users of its Azure cloud portal may not be able to access Office 365, Minecraft or other services due to problems with global network content delivery services.

The technology company posted a note on its Azure status page that its teams are currently investigating issues with the Azure Front Door service and taking action to resolve access issues.

Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but the company acknowledged the problems on its page and across its social media accounts.

Because so many sites and services rely on Microsoft's cloud service, an outage like this could have wide-ranging consequences.

On Downdetector, a site that monitors network outages, users reported problems with services such as Office 365, Minecraft, Xbox Live and Copilot.

Microsoft's troubles with Azure come just hours before the company is set to report quarterly earnings and just over a week after a massive outage at Amazon's cloud computing service brought a wide range of online services to a standstill, including social media, gaming, food delivery, streaming and financial platforms.

Amazon is the dominant cloud computing provider, but Microsoft is second, ahead of Google, in most markets.
