After a roller coaster of two games in Los Angeles, the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays will play its final game south of the border before heading back to the Rogers Center.
Game 5 of the World Series will take place on Wednesday, October 29th at 8:00 pm EST. at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider confirmed that rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage will take the mound in Game 5. The 22-year-old went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks. Yesavage made his MLB debut in September and made just three MLB starts before the postseason. This will be Yesavage's first postseason start outside of Rogers Center.
The Dodgers, on the other hand, We're going to start Blake Snell's first game.. In his last outing, just mentioned, Snell was certainly unlucky. In five innings, Snell allowed five runs on eight hits (including a two-run homer by Dalton Varsho) and three walks. Despite a rocky start, Snell dominated out of the World Series, recording 27 strikeouts and just two runs in 21 innings.
Where to watch
The good news is that Mississauga is hosting its World Series party at Celebration Square. for Game 5, pregame activities begin one hour before first pitch. Newmarket will also host a party at the NewRoads Performing Arts Center with food and refreshments. After Game 5, Newmarket will take a one-game break from hosting a watch party, although there will be a pre-Game 6 party at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto.
If you can find tickets, the Rogers Center is also hosting a World Series viewing party where the game will be shown on the jumbotron for $15. Tickets are already sold out but you can get it through verified resale.
If you're looking to grab a bite to eat while watching the game, most GTHA restaurants, bars and pubs will host their own viewing parties. Some Venues in downtown Toronto (including The Loose Moose, RendezViews, The Pint and Real Sports Bar & Grill) accept walk-ins, and some do not accept reservations at all.
If the crowd is too big, you can watch the game on Sportsnet or its streaming platform Sportsnet+, CityTV and its streaming platform CityTV+ also air the World Series; however, they do host American Fox Broadcast in case you want to listen to Canadian announcers.
Currently, monthly cost of standard Sportsnet+ package is $29.99 or $249.99 per year if you choose to pay annually. The Sportsnet website also lists a package that bundles CityTV+ and Sportsnet+ for a few dollars more than the standard package ($31.99 per month), giving users access to more content than just sports. If you don't want to justify paying CityTV+ to watch the game, you can also get a 7-day free trial of the platform if you have an Amazon Prime Video subscription. Quick note: Satellite TV subscribers can use their provider login to access Sportsnet+ or CityTV+, but the content is limited depending on what they subscribe to.
If you don't want to pay a subscription to watch the games, you can also listen to them on the radio.. Radio stations owned by Sportsnet (590 The Fan, 650 The Fan, 960 The Fan) will carry games; however, local sports coverage may impact World Series coverage depending on region.
If you pay for or have access to Sirius XM, channels 175 and 176 will carry the games, but they will carry different broadcasts (175 will carry channel 590 The Fan, and 176 will carry the Dodgers radio team). If you'd like to subscribe to Sirius XM, The Platinum plan costs $29.99 per month..
