After everything Canadian stages of the original Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons Spring and Summer 2024 tours sold out within hours, leaving ticketless fans waiting with bated breath to see if they would have another opportunity to experience Pelican Town as a live event.
It was me. I was this fan.
Fortunately, the producers of SOHO Live and Stardew Valleysolo creator, Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe)promptly responded to the demand. I was delighted when a new leg of the tour was announced for 2025-2026 under the banner Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons. Obviously, you want to listen to the amazing soundtrack again and again!
Fans often wonder about the difference between Symphony of the Seasons and Festival of the Seasons. Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons not only features a 35-piece symphony orchestra, but also adds visual effects: a screen behind the musicians shows gameplay footage and unique artwork created specifically for the show. According to the organizers, “this is an exciting journey from day one to Stardew Valley right up to the Summit.” “Symphony of the Seasons” is a 2-hour performance with a 20-minute intermission.
On the other hand, Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons is a smaller, more intimate experience, designed for smaller venues and performed by an 11-piece chamber orchestra. Although there is no video screen, mood lighting is used to transport viewers to Pelican Town and its four wonderful seasons. The Festival of Seasons lasts 1 hour 40 minutes with intermission.
Some stops on the 2025-2026 Symphony of Seasons tour will still follow the Festival of Seasons set list to accommodate venue sizes and offer additional, smaller shows based on demand. Fortunately, both concerts in Toronto this fall took place in a new format. Although tickets for the October 11th concert at Roy Thomson Hall again sold out within minutes, I was able to secure tickets for the October 14th concert at Meridian Hall. The second was added at the last minute, probably due to the popularity of the first.
Being a long time fan Stardew Valley who has spent over 600 hours growing iridium quality carambola on my farm, I know all too well the soundtrack composed by ConcernedApe himself. And yet I wanted to feel the magic and comfort that Stardew Valley has brought me together differently over the years. It was wonderful to do this surrounded by other like-minded people, who collectively gasped and cheered at the first notes of the Stardew Valley Overture that plays in the game's opening sequence. Plus, no matter how familiar we are with the in-game spring, summer, fall, and winter tunes, it was truly surreal to hear them performed live by a full orchestra. If you thought the music in the game sounded good, nothing prepares you for the melodic instrumental version!
Symphony of Seasons greatly expands the original Festival of Seasons lineup, including not only seasonal themes and favorite medleys such as Town Medley, Saloon Medley, and Mines Medley, but also songs for seasonal events, villager themes, and a soundtrack for new locations introduced in update 1.5 onwards. My personal favorite was the arcade game section at Stardrop, especially Journey of the Prairie King – the bane of everyone's existence. Stardew Valley the player tries to get 100% achievements for this.

The visuals are a big part of the experience and what really sets Symphony of Seasons apart from its predecessor. From the serene in-game footage of a farmer's humble beginnings, which includes some interesting farm layout ideas, to the unique digital artwork and delicately animated illustrations that pay homage to the game's small moments and big story moments, it's all unmistakable. Stardew Valley– cozy, spacious and inviting to come back again and again. I bet every single person in the audience that night rushed home to start a new save… I know I did.
The wistful dance of the moon jellies, the triumphant celebration of the summit and, of course, the grandpa theme is an emotional crescendo that caps off a rewarding and truly unforgettable experience. If you ever want to get involved, don't miss out. Bring along a friend or loved one who has never played before! Like last year MobileSyrup Art shows of the Festival of Seasonsmagic Stardew Valley open to everyone, both experienced gamers and newcomers to the valley.
