PC users who love big balls often lack support, at least when it comes to input devices. Kensington is one of the best suppliers in this market (again, especially when it comes to PC accessories), and it's been a few years since it updated the design of its flagship trackball. We spotted the newest model earlier this year, but we won't have to wait long for the new one. Expert mouse TB800.
Once again, I think it is necessary to note that the Expert Mouse TB800 is a trackball, not a mouse – this is an outdated name. The new design adds large scroll bars with tabs on either side of the main device, as well as enough extra buttons around the reversible body to allow for up to 16 additional actions. The main ball has a diameter of 55mm and a polling rate of 1000Hz over both wired and wireless connections, although its exact DPI or equivalent is not specified in the specifications. (The older model had a resolution of 400 DPI.) You can connect via USB-C, 2.4GHz adapter or Bluetooth.
The biggest improvement for power users will likely be a rechargeable battery, which is long overdue since the old Expert Mouse was still AAA. Kensington claims that with regular use, it can last four months on a single charge.
A representative told me that the TB800 will launch in North America in the fourth quarter of 2025—which is expected to be before the end of this year—for $130. It's expensive, but only $20 more than the old model from Kensington's online store and is up to standard. Logitech's flagship trackball.
