Suspect, 29, sought after assault in Toronto's east end

A 29-year-old Toronto man is wanted for assault following an incident on the city's east side.

Toronto police said they responded to an assault call on Monday in the Dawes Road-Park Vista area where there was an “interaction” between the accused and the victim before the victim was assaulted “multiple times.”

Police said the accused also threatened the victim with a bladed weapon.

Chanel Christine Gamache is wanted for assault and two counts of assault with a weapon.

The suspect is 5ft 5ins tall with a heavyset build and was last seen wearing a green jacket, gray trousers and carrying a pink backpack.

WOMAN targeted in hate attack

Hamilton police are asking for the public's help after a young woman was attacked in the busy Meadowlands shopping area.

Police said the incident happened Saturday around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Golf Links Rd.-Neville Dr. in Ancaster, which has numerous restaurants and retail stores close to the highway. 403 and Lincoln Alexander Blvd.

Police said the 20-year-old woman was approached by a car and its occupants began uttering anti-Black slurs before attacking her.

“The vehicle and occupants are unknown to the victim and this incident is being investigated as a hate crime,” Hamilton police said in a statement, without disclosing the extent of the victim's injuries.

Police said they are looking for a silver or bronze sedan and that one of the suspects is a light-skinned man with curly black or brown hair wearing a gray or white sweater.
