Earlier this year, Halo Studios and Microsoft did something very rare in the video game industry. by giving permission for a fan-made Halo game, Spartan survivorsgo forward. Now Spartan Survivors is out on Steam, as announced by developer Bathrobe.

Spartan survivors are free on Steamand this was one of the conditions that were set for the project when Halo Studios signed it. One of the other requests was a legal disclaimer on the game's store pages and credits, which specifically stated that this project is not an official Halo game and is not affiliated in any way with Halo Studios or Microsoft.
Batrob describes the game as a roguelike shooter, a cross between Halo and Bullet Heaven. Players take on the role of either the Master Chief or the Arbiter as they battle hordes of Covenant and Flood enemies. The game is currently only available on PC, but an Xbox Series X|S port is planned for the future.
At the Halo World Cup, Halo Studios officially unveiled Halo: Campaign Progressiona modern remake of the original Halo, which will become first Halo game to be released on PlayStation 5. Additionally, Halo Studios announced that All future Halo games will be cross-platform.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in 2026. As part of Halo's 25th anniversary celebration next year, Microsoft will launch Halo Fest in Seattle in December 2026.
