Duo Night Abyss is now available worldwide on your phones, and there are plenty of characters to get as part of the gacha.

Unlike standard gachas, Duo Night Abyss allows you to unlock every weapon and character in the game. However, not all characters are equally strong, and some are simply better. This guide will give you a quick idea of the best units in the current meta at global launch.

Full list of Duet Night Abyss character levels

I used four different levels to separate the characters available in Duo Night Abyss.

  • S-tier characters are the universal best choice in all situations.
  • A-tier characters are a decent choice in most cases, but they have slight limitations.
  • B-tier characters are a good choice, but will require a significant investment.
  • C-tier characters are a weak choice and should be avoided at all costs.

Here's a quick rundown of what the different levels look like.

Level Characters
WITH Rebecca, Yale and Oliver, Fantasio, Daphne
A Berenice, Rhythm, Psyche, Foxhunter, Truffle and Hazelnut
B Sibyl, Outsider, Lynn, Hellfire
WITH Thabet, Margie, Lady Nifl

S-level

  • Rebecca: Rebecca is one of the strongest DPS fighters in the entire game thanks to her AoE based hydro damage. Her moves and their effects last a long time, but you should pay attention to her range. It cleans any game content well, so its development makes a lot of sense.
  • Yale and Oliver: This duo has one of the best playstyles for beginners as you can keep your distance and deal damage. Their bombs deal incredible damage to most enemy types. Beware of bosses, who are usually mobile and difficult to hit.
  • Fantasio: Once he enters his Bestial Rage state, Fantasio strikes hard and fast. He is exceptionally good against bosses, and upgrades allow him to remain in his Bestial Rage state for a long time. Pair him with a good support healer to ensure he survives the damage, and also focus on staying in Beastly Rage for as long as possible.
  • Daphne: Daphne is the best healer you can find in the game. Her entire arsenal revolves around healing the party, which she is exceptionally good at. In Intron Lv. In version 6, she also offers a damage boost to her allies, making her the best support character in the entire game.

A-level

  • Berenice: Berenice is a fairly versatile attacker with good damage and decent mobility. You can also use her passive to restore her sanity, allowing her to use abilities more. However, her base damage is slightly less than S-tier DPS units.
  • Rhythm: Although her overall damage is on the lower side, Rhythm offers a playstyle that is very suitable for beginners. You can retreat with her as the danger increases and then counter her AoE abilities, which only improve as you level her up to Intron. 6.
  • Psyche: While I didn't enjoy playing Psyche against bosses, she is probably the best character during exploration. She has good damage, especially when you Ultimate her. She would be S-tier if her ultimate had a longer duration.
  • Foxhunter: Foxhunter is a hybrid of a support and DPS character, as many of her attacks deal area damage. She also provides shields to all of her allies, and her potential as a DPS increases as you level her up.
  • Truffle and Hazelnut: Truffle and Filbert are great characters for beginners as they can use their Ultimate indefinitely. While she is good against bosses, Truffle and Filbert are excellent against mobs due to the nature of their moves.

B-level

  • Sibyl: Even though she has unique abilities, Sybil's AoE damage is not enough. She's still underwhelming even at Intron Lv. 6, but her Thunderborb ability works well with teammates.
  • Lynn: At base levels, Lynn is extremely weak as her damage is low. Her Ultimate makes her immobile in position, but she becomes top tier once you get her to Intron Lv. 6.
  • Outsider: On the outside, she's a decent character with good attack and defense, but she won't cope unless you equip her with the right weapons.
  • Hellfire: Her outfit is extremely strange. While she can heal allies, she cannot gain shields at the same time. Her base damage is also quite low unless you level her up to Intron. 6.

C-level

  • Lady Nifl: Controlling her mind is incredibly difficult, making it difficult to use her abilities. Without these abilities, Lady Knifle is extremely weak as a DPS unit and is why she is placed at C-Tier.
  • Margie: Has an extremely weak set, with the exception of Ultimate, but success also depends heavily on other factors.
  • Tabitha: Her tentacles have decent crowd control but no damage. Picking her up does very little damage, putting her at C level.
