The Blue Jays were in California tonight to take on the Dodgers immediately after Game 3 of the World Series. Before the game, the series ended with a score of 1:1.
It was the Dodgers' first home game of the Fall Classic. There will be three of them in a row.
In the second inning, the umpire decided to steal the ball. show. When Tyler Glasnow threw the fourth pitch to Dalton Varsho, the batter threw his bat and Bo Bichette, who was on first base, flied out to second.
But it took the referee a few (loooong) seconds before he decided it was a hit after all. So Bichette found himself in a mousetrap… and because of the condition of his knee, he looked like Bambi in front of the lights of tanks on the highway: he froze.

If the ABS had been in place, Varsho would have called for a restart and would have achieved his goal of balls. John Schneider wouldn't have to come out and ask for an explanation. And the Blue Jays likely would have scored on Alejandro Kirk's opposite-field hit.
But that quickly ended the threat without Bichette in the lanes and with another out.
Let's just say it hurt the Blue Jays, who would normally score in an inning like this. And when Teoscar Hernandez hit a home run after that, it wouldn't give the Dodgers the lead.
But still…

Of course, it wasn't the judge's fault. Tyler Glasnow was in great shape, started the game very well and controlled the game against the Blue Jays hitters.
You see extraordinary plays every day when you watch ball. But it hurts. Can the frustrated Blue Jays bounce back from this?
- John Schneider didn't like Dave Roberts' comments about the Canadiens' customs.

- George Springer was clearly booed in Los Angeles. This is to be expected.
