The Steelers were buoyed by Chris Boswell's impressive field goal and Aaron Rodgers' pass to DK Metcalf. Pittsburgh led 16–7 at halftime. Love returned and did not miss.

Love threw another touchdown pass to Kraft and a third pass to Savion Williams to help. Packers back to the front. Josh Jacobs scored in the fourth quarter from three yards out. Once the Packers took the lead, the defense never let up.

Rodgers entered the game looking to avoid playing the first game of his career against the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He fondly recalled his time with the Packers in the week leading up to the game.

He probably wanted things to go a little differently.

There have been times when Rodgers showed how excellent he still is at 41 years old. He made amazing throws to Metcalf and Roman Wilson at certain points of the night and was even able to force pass interference on the Packers' secondary for the game-tying touchdown.

But there were also times when he was clearly unhappy with his teammates. He was pressured all night by linebackers Micah Parsons and Rashan Gary, and the offense largely fell apart. He was aiming to become the fifth quarterback in NFL history to beat all 32 teams in his career.

Some of the voltages Steelers players boiled on the field. During the Steelers' kickoff, Pittsburgh's Ben Skowronek found himself double-teamed with two Packers players. Nick Herbig came to defend Skowronek and tackled Bo Melton to the ground. This started a brief skirmish that involved the two officials.

Metcalf later sparred with Packers linebacker Quay Walker. The wide receiver stuck his fingers into Walker's mask. He was called for unnecessary roughness and blocked the Steelers' offense.

Green Bay would win at home and improve to 5-1-1. The Steelers fell to 4-3, which will increase contention for the AFC North as the midseason approaches.

Love finished 29 of 37 with 360 yards passing and three touchdown passes. Craft had seven catches for 143 yards and two scores.
