Thirsty Suitors And Dosa Diwas Developer Outerloop Games is laying off six developers due to unexpected financial problems.
Rumors of these layoffs first spread on LinkedIn, where a number of affected workers shared their employment status. Outerloop Games CEO Chandana Ekanayake then confirmed the layoffs in a statement to Game Developer and on social media.
“This week at the Outer Loop Games we say goodbye to six amazing guys on our team,” Ekanayake said in a statement. “They have been part of the team for many years and unfortunately we have been faced with unexpected US tax changes, port cancellations and new projects moving forward that are slow to move forward. This is a tough year.”
Ekanayake said the company is completing development of Outersloth. Dosa Diwas and presentation of two small projects. He also provided public table with information from affected employees in the hope that other developers can provide work.
“They are all very talented and ready to cooperate,” he noted in next post.
