Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry make it official with date night in Paris: report

Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry made it official Saturday night by heading out on a date in Paris.

Video posted by TMZ shows the former Canadian prime minister and the pop star holding hands as they left the Crazy Horse cabaret in the French capital.

Outside, a crowd of paparazzi and fans awaited them, some of whom began singing “Happy Birthday” to Perry, who celebrated her 41st birthday on Saturday.

In another video published by the publication, a woman can be seen presenting Perry with a rose after receiving a “Thank you” from the musician.

After a few seconds, without saying anything more, the duo were placed in the backseat of a waiting SUV and drove off.

It was their first confirmed public appearance together since walking their dog and having dinner in Montreal at the end of July.

Perry was in town on tour, and Trudeau and his 15-year-old daughter Ella Grace were spotted at the Bell Center show a couple days later.

Entertainment news, all citing people who claimed to be in the know, reported on the romance rumors throughout the summer.

That was until October 11, when the Daily Mail published photos of Perry and a man believed to be Trudeau hugging and kissing on the pop star's yacht while it was docked in Santa Barbara, California.

The images were taken by a tourist passing the boat, who said he recognized Trudeau's distinctive Haida tattoo on his left shoulder.

Perry seemed to hint at a new romance in her life during a show in London, England two days later when a fan proposed marriage to her on stage, prompting her to respond: “You really should have asked me about 48 hours ago.”
