New Jersey GOP gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli appears to be gaining momentum in his race as strong national voices are joining him (well, virtually, at least in one case). That would be the town hall call that Ciattarelli held with his supporters on Friday, and President Donald Trump was also on the line. Early voting begins Saturday.
Speaking to supporters, President defeated a Democratic opponentRep. Miki Sherrill, but she's excited about how much the Garden State's quality of life would deteriorate if she were allowed to become governor:
“Miki, as they call her, the only thing she has is an unusual name, other than she's terrible,” Trump said, according to the report. Politician.
“Micky Sherrill looks [like] such an innocent name, but her energy policies will cause prices to skyrocket and make New Jersey even more expensive than it already is,” he later added.
The president said that if a Democratic lawmaker were elected governor, New Jersey would enter a “death spiral.”
Pres. Trump also praised Ciattarelli, contrasting his conservative energy proposals with Sherrill's liberal plans, predicting a Republican victory and promising to “campaign” for him:
“Jack's going to be great, and he's going to cut your energy bills in half, and she's going to double your energy bills, so New Jersey, just on the power bills alone… on the power alone, I think Jack should win,” Trump said, according to Associated Press.
After returning from a trip to Asia, the president said he would “campaign for Jack.”
Ciattarelli told FNC's Fox & Friends on Saturday that his campaign has “received at least 12” endorsements from Democrats in his state:

My colleague Adam Turner just published a new column in which his reading of the tea leaves – a week and a half before the off-year election – provides encouraging signs for the New Jersey gubernatorial race for the Republican candidate. In part, he said, this is due to some shaky numbers that put Democrats near the polling average in the home stretch:
Democratic Congressman Mikie Sherrill remains in the average RCP rating. leading Former Republican state Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli 48.1 percent to 44 percent. But Sherrill's ratings are improving thanks to at least one bad election official who has bad habit of underestimating GOP votes.
Turner adds other positive signs of possible Republican disappointment, which will have consequences in the runoff:
Otherwise, Ciattarelli Seems have a BIG MO. He was endorsed by nearly a dozen prominent local and state Democratic officials.

Trade unions that supported [former Dem Gov. Phil] Murphy before are I switch to Chiattarelli. Democrats are There is growing concern about turnout in the black community, which has shown a willingness to vote Republican in 2024 races.

New Jerseyans are “tired” of the decline caused by Democrats in the state, says Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ):

I'll leave you with one more small message that the Jersey GOP candidate's campaign is doing the right thing; It couldn't hurt Ciattarelli to run a great ad like this.
Oh yeah, the voiceover belongs to none other than New Jersey native… Kelsey Grammer:
Kelsey Grammer grew up here—and like many New Jerseyans, he knows we've lost our way.
It's time to bring back honest leadership, lower taxes, safer communities and pride in our state.
It's time for real change. pic.twitter.com/O3biMrjRcX

Whenever Republicans can take advantage of bringing in some Hollywood star power (as they did here, conveying a conservative message, honestly), it's a way to win seats we might not otherwise win. Kudos to whoever made that call on his team.
This clip from Grammer's excellent show Frasier, which airs the title character's first phone call, seems fitting… Have a nice weekend, readers!
