Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings reminded CNN NewsNight host Abby Phillip several times Thursday night that New York Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani posed for photos with an unindicted accomplice in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, whose children were later convicted on terrorism charges.
Mamdani did campaign appearance at the Masjid At-Taqwa mosque in Bedford-Stuyvesant on October 17, where he praised Siraj Wahhaj and published Photo of imam on X. Jennings criticized the photo, reminding Philip that former Democratic New York Gov. “Mamdani took this photo and seems very proud of it. It's a legitimate discussion point,” Jennings said, prompting Phillip ask“Isn't it fair to say he would have supported 9/11?”
“He took pictures with the unindicted World Trade Center bombing co-conspirators,” Jennings responded, as Philip asked, “I mean, are you willing to say that you really think he would have supported 9/11?”
Wahhaj was a co-conspirator who was not charged. 1993 World Trade Center attack, according to in the New York Post. Jennings repeated his response that Mamdani had his photo taken with Wahhaj, who testified as character witness For Omar Abdel-Rahmana blind cleric sentenced to life in prison for his role in a bombing that killed six people and injured hundreds.
“But I'm asking Scott because Scott seems to think this is a completely blatant line of attack. Do you think it's true?” Phillip asked Jennings, who responded: “I can only tell you what I see on my phone. I see a photo of Mamdani with a guy who was an unindicted accomplice in the New York attack.”
“Do you think it was a good photograph?” Jennings added.
Among them were Wahhaj's son Siraj ibn Wahhaj and his two daughters. convicted on terrorism and child abuse charges in 2023 after federal agents raided a compound in New Mexico.
Mamdani won Democratic nomination for mayor of New York in June, leftist politicsincluding the opening of government grocery stores, free child care, free bus travel and increase taxes on predominantly white and wealthy neighborhoods. Mamdani also promised arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, if he visited New York, has a warrant for his arrest issued by the International Criminal Court.
