US program manager Chellsey Memmel noted the team's poor performance.

The United States is accustomed to regularly dominating the women's category in international gymnastics. It was only the third year since 2006 that the U.S. did not finish with the most women's medals since 2006, with the exceptions being 2017 and 2021, when it was tied with Japan and Russia for the most medals.

If the past week is any indication, it could spell trouble for the U.S. women's gymnast dynasty as it prepares for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
“For me, it means approaching every turn with the intention that everything will be great, and being confident in that,” Memmel explained. “To believe in it—to believe in themselves—to do it and know that they can do it when the time comes to raise their hand.”
