The Canadian Football League made changes to its playoff schedule on Saturday, November 1, to avoid a potential conflict with the final game of the World Series.
The Eastern Semifinal, which was originally scheduled for 3:00 pm ET, will now be played an hour earlier at 2:00 pm ET. The Western Semifinal, which was originally scheduled for 6:30 pm ET, will now begin at 5:30 pm ET.
The Toronto Blue Jays qualified for the World Series for the first time in 32 years after defeating the Seattle Mariners in the ALCS. They will now face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series on the following schedule:
Friday, October 24, 8:00 pm ET.
Saturday, October 25, 8:00 pm ET.
Monday, October 27, 8:00 pm ET.
Tuesday, October 28, 8:00 pm ET.
Wednesday, October 29, 8:00 pm ET.
Friday, October 31st, 8:00 pm ET.
Saturday, November 1st, 8:00 pm ET.
CFL pointed to 3DownNation that the new timing of the East and West semifinals would remain in place even if the World Series did not reach a seventh game.
Start times for the Eastern and Western Finals, scheduled for 3:00 pm ET and 6:30 pm ET respectively, on Saturday, November 8th will be as usual.
