Pixel 10 Pro Fold users have discovered a strange battery issue

Owners of Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold have noticed a new strange bug. Redditors Reported a question mark instead of a battery percentage indicator.

Apart from some speculation, no one knows why the battery does this. Android Center indicated that the problem seems to occur among users using a wireless charger, especially third-party or non-Qi2 certified ones.. One theory is that these chargers may have caused a “brief communication or calibration error” between the battery management system and the Pro Fold's software, leaving the device unsure of its actual charge level.

The Reddit post also suggested that the issue was due to a software bug as they had to reboot the device to restore the battery percentage.

On the other side, Android Police marked that some users in a Reddit thread are warning of more serious issues with the question mark, including those who claim their phones are completely locked after the battery question mark appears.

While the issue mainly affected Pixel 10 Pro Fold devices, Pixel 9 Pro Fold users also noticed the same question mark next to the battery icon. One user who had the same problem contacted Google support and received a replacement device after it completely failed for just over a year.

A Google representative spoke with Android Center confirmed that the correct solution to the problem is to reboot the device, as well as switch to a Qi2 certified charger to charge the device.

Google isn't the only company facing this issue, as the Samsung Galaxy Ring hospitalized a man after the battery started to swell and got stuck on my finger.
