“Every October since 1934, the United States has recognized the voyage of European explorers who first landed on America's shores,” Harris said during the 78th Annual Convention of the National Congress of American Indians on Oct. 12, 2021, according to the release. Fox News.

“But that's not the whole story. That was never the whole story,” Harris continued. “These explorers started a wave of devastation on tribal nations – committing violence, pillaging the land and spreading disease. We must not shy away from this shameful past, we must shine a light on it and do everything we can to eliminate the impact of the past on indigenous communities today.”

Performance on reserve land in Canada.

“Have you seen her Columbus Day message to America?” Rogan asked Schultz. “Oh God. It was like, 'Don't forget the horrors that the Europeans… Jesus Christ.' Swearing!”

“I think it’s funny when governments do things like this to increase care,” Schultz responded.

Schultz then spoke about his experience performing in Canada on reserve land and how he was asked to read the Indigenous Land Acknowledgment before his speech.

“I remember when they first told me about it, I was like, 'What do you want me to do?' Schultz remembered what he said in response. “I remember saying that to the tribal leader, like, 'Bro, this sounds like I'm bragging,'” he said. “I go up there and say: “This used to be yours, but the guys came and pulled you all out of here.” Do you really want me to go and remind everyone what happened before the comedy show?”

“We stole it, but now it's ours”

Rogan said his “favorite part” about the land confessions is the fact that they are read with the tacit understanding that “We won't get him back.”

“We stole it, but now it’s ours. Sorry…sorry“We're going to face the fact that we're on stolen land,” Rogan joked. “But the thing is, the people who agree with this are the same people who don't want any borders and (think) no one is illegal to be anywhere. It's like Christopher Columbus is the only immigrant they hate… There are no borders here, no one is illegal, and yet these people shouldn't have been here.”

“We let a Spanish-speaking guy into America one time… it went great,” Schultz said as they both laughed.

While Rogan recounted the bloody chapters of the conquest of America, Schultz meant that the past should remain in the past.

“Shit happened,” he said. “People do shit. It is what it is. We're here now. What do we do now? … You go to the doctor and you have lung cancer, and the doctor says, 'Let's talk about all those cigarettes you've been smoking.' And it's like, 'Why don't we talk about all that chemotherapy you're going to give me?' Tell me, what are we going to do now to get rid of this crap?”
