The giveaway is part of the company's “Bring It Home” campaign as the Blue Jays look to win the World Series for the first time in 32 years.

“The Blue Jays unite fans across the country, and they all want the same thing—Team Canada to bring the World Series championship back to Canada,” Terri Tweddle, director of brand and public relations for Rogers, said in a press release.

“We are thrilled to give thousands of fans and customers the opportunity to experience the World Series and this iconic baseball team.”

To win free prizes, fans will need to post a photo or video on Instagram encouraging the Blue Jays to “Bring It Home” with the hashtag #BringItHomeJays.

Sharing the post, Rodgers said fans will have a chance to win one of 250 pairs of Game 1 tickets.

Rodgers said he will surprise lucky fans watching Game 1 on Friday at various Greater Toronto Area locations with 500 tickets to Game 2 of the World Series. An additional 10 pairs for Game 2 will be given away on Rogers' Instagram account.

If a fan is a Rogers customer, the company also gives away hundreds of tickets to World Series home games at Rogers Center. Contest, open to customers across Canadaincludes a grand prize of a pair of tickets, airfare and accommodation.

The competition follows days of outrage over exorbitant resale prices at Ticketmaster and third-party ticket outlets.

After seats went on sale Tuesday morning, many fans took to social media throughout the day to express their disappointment after being confronted with ticket resales costing thousands of dollars.

On Thursday, one sports fan shared a screenshot of two tickets to the Blue Jays' standing-room-only Outfield District section for $2,500. These tickets originally went on sale for $345 plus fees.

Premier Doug Ford made the announcement Wednesday. that he would look into the matter following public outrage over sky-high ticket resales.

“My personal opinion… people are being gouged out,” he said outside his office in Queen's Park.. “When there is one player in the market who controls the tickets, it’s not right for people.”

Ford said he and his team are looking at possible legislation, adding that he doesn't think one company should control event ticket sales.

“And that’s what I think is happening with Ticketmaster right now,” Ford said.
