EXCLUSIVE: NCIS: Los Angeles Star Daniela Ruah directs romantic short film My typestarring Sadie Stanley (Cruel Summer) and Jacob Ward (Summer House). Inspired by a true story, My type The story follows two twentysomethings whose shared experiences with type 1 diabetes spark an unexpected love connection. Shot on 16mm film, the project reunites Rua with cinematographer Rafael Leyva (Narcos: Mexico). It is produced by Nicole McNaughton, who also manages Untamed Artists, and her sister Kimberly Pinkson under their High High Productions banner. Filming is currently underway in Santa Barbara. “We wanted to tell a story that was both deeply personal and hopeful,” Rua said. “It's about finding love in unexpected places and seeing the person, not the diagnosis.”
