The Canadiens were in Calgary tonight to take on the Flames, with Jakub Dobes in goal and Joshua Roy playing his first game of the season for the Canadiens. Kirby Dach (injured) and Mark Del Gaizo were in the stands, and there was also a lineup of three Quebecers on the ice.

From the beginning, the old Flames arena was the talk of the town because the lights weren't doing their job.

It's hard to watch.
There's a puck there. I swear. Likely. pic.twitter.com/WtJzgFwR6I– Marc Dumont (@MarcPDumont) October 23, 2025
Of course, as an early bird who already had to go to bed because of today's game, I was very much happy with the game delay. In fact, I was as happy as Martin Saint-Louis.

French power play. “Looks like the gate lights are working, Elle” made me laugh. It's nice to see comments like this on social media when it's harmless.

In the second period, the Habs did what they always do: they took their foot off the gas pedal. Martin St. Louis' men had a much tougher time on the ice, but fortunately for them, Jakub Dobes was in great shape. He made several saves for his teammates midway through the period. He and Dustin Wolf had a great fight, I must say. ThatTruth. But at some point, the Canadiens goalie simply couldn't do it all and gave up early in the third game.Noah Dobson already looked better. content advertising

When the score was 1:1 at the end of the third match, both teams decided to play in overtime. That's exactly what happened: at the 60th minute the score was 37-27 in favor of the Flames. Neither goalkeeper deserved to lose that game: those who saw the game saw how dangerous many of the shots were.In the end, Noah Dobson's mistake didn't hurt the Habs too much and they found a way to win. In overtime, the Habs controlled the drive from start to finish. And Ivan Demidov set the table with a great performance from Mike Matheson, who scored the winning goal on the only shot of the extra period.

Final score: 2-1 in favor of the Habs in overtime. The Canadiens' next game is tomorrow night in Edmonton. In the next few hours the club will hit the road and Samuel Montembault will be at the gate. Will Kirby Duch be there?

– Jakub Dobes was attacked by the Flames, but the guys were close.

– In the first period, the Habs power play worked. But are you overall satisfied with what you're seeing on the power play – Jakub Dobs… Zachary Bolduc… Oliver Kapanen… Mike Matheson… Noah Dobson… the guys will have to be more disciplined next time. #Fines– Zachary Bolduc has scored in every away game, but not yet at home. He did it tonight in front of J.F. Pose, but he hasn't done it… in his home country this season.
