Paul Walter Hauser Wants to Cast Sam Rockwell in Chris Farley Biopic

Paul Walter Hauser I'll be playing soon Chris Farley V Josh Gadbiopic about the legendary Saturday Night Live actor, and the Naked Gun star announced who she wants to play Lorne Michaels.

While talking with Diversity At the Los Angeles premiere of Springsteen: Deliver Me Out of Nowhere on Wednesday night, Houser said he wants Sam Rockwell to play the mastermind of “SNL.”

“I have a few ideas about who to cast as Lorne,” Houser said. “I really want Sam Rockwell to play Lorne Michaels, which I don’t think I’ve told anyone yet.”

Houser then approached Rockwell directly with his proposal.

“Sam Rockwell, please play Lorne Michaels in my movie with Chris Farley,” he added. “Anyway, you love being next to me when I'm doing Farley impersonations, so I'll be doing Matt Foley impersonations for you all day and making you laugh. It'll be fun.”

If Houser gets his wish, it will be the second collaboration between him and Rockwell, following Clint Eastwood's 2019 drama Richard Jewell.

Earlier in the interview, Houser revealed that he recently received the “final draft” of the script from “500 Days of Summer” screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, which he called “the best.” He added that filming could begin as early as “early to mid next year” and that the production is simply waiting for the “elusive green light” from New Line and Warner Bros.

Farley biopic was first introduced in April 2024. While plot details remain under wraps, the film is based on the New York Times bestselling book The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts by Tom Farley Jr. (Farley's brother) and Tanner Colby.
