Ubisoft has announced a “restructuring proposal” for its Finnish studio RedLynx.
The proposal aims to be in line with Ubisoft's “global efforts to simplify, reduce costs, and sharpen priorities and efficiency across the company's worldwide network of studios.”
If the proposal is accepted, a maximum of 60 positions could be affected, primarily in production and administration.
This will not affect the technology team working on the Ubisoft Snowdrop game engine.
RedLynx is known for developing the Trials racing series. The last game, the mobile game Gwen's Gateway, was canceled in December 2024.
Ubisoft clarified that before making a decision on the restructuring proposal, RedLynx will hold collective bargaining agreements with its employees.
These negotiations are scheduled to take place on October 20, 2025 and are expected to conclude by the end of November.
As part of the proposal, RedLynx will transform from a multi-platform studio to a studio “specializing in the small screen.”
Ubisoft said this will allow RedLynx to “optimize its resources to best leverage the studio's unique expertise, starting with two unannounced mobile projects that the studio is leading.”
“This proposal reflects the difficult choices we may have to make and has been made after careful consideration,” said Ubisoft RedLynx managing director Celine Pasoula.
“We recognize the importance of this announcement and want to recognize the impact this proposal can have on individuals and teams.”
Pasula continued, “With these proposed changes, we are confident that RedLynx will continue to play a significant role in Ubisoft's future, driving technical excellence on mobile devices and strengthening Ubisoft's cross- and multi-platform capabilities on small screens to expand our reach to our audience.”
RedLynx was acquired by Ubisoft in 2011 for an undisclosed sum.
