Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy XR, which was previously known as Project Moohan. Galaxy XR is the first device based on Android XR platformdeveloped by Google, Samsung and Qualcomm.
Apple Vision Pro the competitor costs just US$1,799 ($2,521 CAD), but unfortunately it won't be coming to Canada.
Not yet knowing that he will not come to Canada, we tried the Galaxy XRwhere I played around with some automated spatial images and videos, had a very interactive experience on YouTube, and thought the experience was easy to use and quite intuitive.
We've also finally learned about the device's specs, which include 16GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor, and a 3552 x 3840 pixel display with up to 90Hz refresh rate. It also has two high-resolution pass-through cameras and six world-facing tracking cameras with 6.5-megapixel sensors and 18mm f/2.0 lenses, although it's unclear whether these specs apply to all cameras or just some. Galaxy XR supports iris recognition to unlock the device and enter passwords for certain apps.
The Galaxy XR also has up to 2 hours of battery life with normal use, which seems pretty bad, but it's only slightly less than the new one. Apple Vision Pro.
